Tickets are on sale for the 11th annual Marquette Area Blues Fest over Labor Day weekend.
The three day festival will feature 12 different blues musicians as well as workshops, food vendors, a beer tent and arts and crafts vendors. The festival is the biggest event hosted by the Marquette Area Blues Society and works to educate and preserve the blues in the Upper Peninsula. Over 3,000 people are expected to attend throughout the weekend.
??It is world class blues, literally these are some of the best blues musicians in the world?? said Mark Hamari, president of the Marquette Area Blues Society. ??They come here and they love it. It is a great setting right here on the shore of the lake with the ore dock in the background. It is one of them most unique settings anywhere.??
The Friday night show is free but tickets must be purchased to attend Saturday and Sunday. Weekend passes are $45 presale and $50 at the gate. Day passes are $30 and $10 for guests ages 15-23 with valid identification. Guests under the age of 15 are free with a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased through NMU EZ Tickets and on the Blues Society??s website.
