      Too many cats

The Delta Animal Shelter is seeing an increase in cats being dropped off during this time of year, and they're asking for help from the public.

Right now the shelter has 65 cats. They normally have about 30, but people are bringing in litters of 2 to 10 kittens. Shelter Manager, Susan Gartland, said they're struggling to find room. People can adopt kittens for half the price. Other cats are already spayed or neutered. The cat adoption specials range from $20 to $50.

"You know, we're really hoping that people will come in and adopt these fabulous cats. Currently we have not had to euthanize any adoptable cats since we've taken over the shelter," said Gartland.

There are 30 kittens at the shelter, and Gartland said she's hoping they get adopted out soon.
