The twins are doing well, that's the word from their father, Brandon Nelson, but the family is also having money troubles.
The seven year old twins are Robert and Peter Nelson of Negaunee. They were born with a rare genetic condition called Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome. It's an overgrowth syndrome of certain body parts.
The twins had surgery last week in St. Louis, Missouri. The boys are back home now, and doing well.
However, the family had to pay up front over $26,000 for the twins' surgeries. They had to take out a high interest loan in order for the medical procedures to move forward.
