Three people were injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Ishpeming. The crash occurred at the intersection of US-41 and Lakeshore Drive at 1:26 p.m.
Police say a Minnesota man driving a work truck on US-41 ran a red light. The truck slammed into a van driven by a Gwinn man heading south on Lakeshore Drive.
The work truck then crashed into a utility pole. Some of the traffic lights were knocked down during the collision. Three people received non life-threatening injuries in the accident.
The intersection was closed for a time to clean up the debris. The Michigan Department of Transportation along with UPPCO are working to fix the traffic lights at the intersection.
