The Menominee County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene of a fatal crash on Monday night, shortly before 7:30 p.m.
According to the sheriff's department, two people were killed after a mini van crossed the centerline of Menominee County Road 557 and struck an oncoming pickup truck.
Police say that both drivers, identified as 29-year-old Lee Polfus and 35-year-old Curtis Grondin, died at the scene.
The sheriff's department stated that Polfus, the driver of the mini van, may have been speeding on slippery roads. Officials added that alcohol may have been involved.
There was a small white dog in the pickup truck with Grondin, which has survived according to police. County Road 557 was closed for five hours after the crash.
