Two suspects in custody after Marquette Township break-in

The Marquette County Sheriff's Department has two suspects in jail after a breaking and entering Thursday morning in Marquette Township.

At 12:55 a.m., a witness called 911, reporting that two males were breaking into the EZ Stop. The suspects broke into the side door of the store and stole cartons of cigarettes, hard alcohol, and a case of beer. They then fled on foot.

Witnesses identified the suspects, and they were tracked down at a residence on West Fair Avenue in Marquette. Both were arrested and are currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail. Their names are being withheld pending arraignment.

The Michigan State Police K-9 unit, Marquette City Police, and Northern Michigan University Public Safety also assisted at the scene.
