U.P. All Stars gather, giving gifts before game

The best high school football players from across the Upper Peninsula arrived in Marquette Monday morning, and they're already making a difference in the community.

While checking into their dorm rooms, players dropped off over 500 pounds of non-perishable food items for Marquette's Beacon House. Players will be at Northern Michigan University all week, practicing for Saturday's East versus West All Star Game.

Later this week, the players will spend time with kids at Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay.

"We're gonna be staying with a random person in the dorms for the week, but we get to meet them for a week and we get to know each other, and then you participate with the different schools for the first time ever, you know as one team, so it should be a good, long, fun week," said Connor Wilson of Ironwood.

The East takes on the West on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Superior Dome.
