During severe thunderstorms Saturday afternoon, a portion of the roof of the Ford Airport Terminal in Iron Mountain blew off. The building was unoccupied at the time, so no one was injured.

Sixty miles per hour winds were reported in the area at the time of the storm.

Saturday night's arrival flight is cancelled, and arriving passengers will be bussed to Iron Mountain from Escanaba.

Sunday morning's flight out is also cancelled, and departing passengers will be bussed to Escanaba.

Despite the extensive damage, crews are working around the clock to reopen Ford Airport in time for the Sunday afternoon flight.
