A Lake Linden man is back home recovering after being hit by a car in July.
In an update from the Michigan State Police in Calumet, 30 year-old Albert Labeau was struck while walking on M-26 near Henwood Road in Calumet on July 18. The investigation in the incident shows that Labeau was walking south in the southbound lane, which is unlighted. The driver of the car, 21 year-old Rea Sturos, was unable to see him around the curve. That's when she struck him.
Labeau was taken to Aspirus Keweenaw and later transferred to Marquette General Hospital. He has been released and is now back home recovering. He was deemed at fault, as he walk walking partially on the road and on the wrong side. Alcohol is not a factor in this. No tickets are being issued.
