A 26-year-old Gwinn man died after the vehicle he was driving collided with a waste management truck on M-553 on Thursday, according to the Marquette County Sheriff's Department.

The man and his six-month-old daughter were the only occupants of the Chevy Malibu.

The driver of the Malibu was pronounced dead at the scene. His daughter was removed by witnesses from a child safety seat located in the back of the vehicle. She was taken to Marquette General Hospital where she is in stable condition.
