Upper Michigan hospital receives generous donation

A major donation to OSF Hospital will enable the expansion of physical therapy services.

John and Patt Besse have donated a gift of $2.5 million to help fund a new physical rehabilitation and wellness center. The new building will allow OSF Hospital to offer all rehabilitation services under one roof.

The center will also include a new warm water therapy pool.

"The Besse's generous gift is going to allow us to expand our rehabilitation services to include physical therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy as well as a wellness program," said Kelly Jefferson.

The new 14,500 square foot facility will be located on the hospital campus along Willow Creek Road. It will be called the John and Patt Besse Physical Rehabilitation & Wellness Center. The total cost is expected to be around $4 million.

Construction will begin later this summer and is expected to be completed within one year.
