2013 Governor's Senior Volunteer of the Year finalists with Governor Rick Snyder

A Marquette County woman has been selected as the 2013 Governor's Senior Volunteer of the Year.

Yvonne Clark was announced as the winner at an awards celebration on Tuesday at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids. She was named as one of five finalists because of her dedicated commitment to the community.

Clark has volunteered many hours with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Community Emergency Response Team, and Red Cross. She was nominated by Michigan State Police Trooper Stacey Rasanen and Marquette County Emergency Management Coordinator Teresa Schwalbach.

All finalists were honored during the Governor's Service Awards event, with one person awarded the winner of each category.
