Marilyn has been involved in the world of dance all of her life.
When the National Dance Association decided to form Nu Delta Alpha (an honor society for university dance majors), Marilyn was at the meeting and asked what would be available for high school students with an interest in dance.
At that time she was named the national contact for the formation of middle/high school chapters of Nu Delta Alpha. With no money budgeted, Marilyn jumped in as a volunteer.
For the past 10 years she has worked tirelessly at the national, state, and local level to make this high school Dance Honor Society a success.
She has seen to it that the members fund raise money to attend dance camp, have danced twice in the half time show of the Outback Bowl in Tampa, FL, attended several dance activities in the Green Bay area and went to New York City for lessons.
They have also sponsored a yearly dance workshop with well known dancers.
All of this would not have been possible without Marilyn volunteering her coaching and organizational skills.
She is a silent gem in our local arts community.Find other UPsiders and submit your own.
