If you're traveling through Manistique, you may want to set aside a little more commute time.
Over five miles of US-2 starting at M-149 and ending at the Manistique River Bridge will be getting resurfaced starting this Monday. During this time there will be lane and shoulder closures under flag control.
According to Michigan Department of Transportation, this project is preventative maintenance that is expected to add about six years of life to the pavement. It has an estimated cost of $569,000.
The project is expected to be completed in October.
