U.S. Senate candidate visits the Upper Peninsula

U.S. Senate candidate Gary Peters is taking his â??Michigan Firstâ?? tour to the Upper Peninsula. His first stop was Bobaloonâ??s Cafà in Escanaba.

On his tour, he plans to speak with community members and small businesses. Peters said he hopes to hear some of the challenges they face and find â??practical solutionsâ?? to help make Michiganâ??s middle class stronger.

Petersâ?? main concerns are the economy and small businesses. He feels focusing on the small local business aspect could really benefit U.P. residents and their unique economy.

â??We need to focus on making sure that we are looking at ways to create good paying, middle class jobs," said Peters. "I work a lot on small businesses; that's why Iâ??m here at a small business in downtown Escanaba.â??

Next on Petersâ?? tour is the Timber Products Company of Iron Mountain.
