It'll soon be easier for veterans to receive their medication. Starting February 27, veterans can have their prescriptions mailed to them.
The wait at the V.A. pharmacy for medication can be long, however, with the new way, the veteran will be able to get their medication from their mailbox. But this is only for non-emergencies. Medications the doctors prescribe for emergencies will still be available right away at the pharmacy.
??It's going to really reduce the wait times in our pharmacy as well as eliminate the need for veterans to drive all the way here to the medical center just for a refill,?? says Brad Nelson.
The average veteran lives about 60 miles from the nearest V.A. medical center, so this will eliminate a long drive for them. Contact the V.A. to set up your mailed prescription.
