      Vehicle-pedestrian accident

      A vehicle-pedestrian accident on Sunday night in Marquette has claimed the life of a 53-year-old Marquette man. At 8:16 p.m. on Sunday, the Marquette Police Department responded to the intersection of the US-41 Bypass and Grove Street.

      Investigation revealed that a pedestrian was attempting to cross the highway when they were struck by a vehicle heading westbound on the US-41 Bypass.

      The pedestrian was fatally injured as a result of the crash. The vehicle had been driven by a 35-year-old resident of Chocolay Township.

      The Marquette Police Department was assisted on the scene by the Marquette Fire Department, Medi-Ride EMS, Marquette County Sheriff's Department, and the Marquette Public Works Department.

      The accident remains under investigation.

      A serious accident in Marquette Sunday night involving a vehicle and a male pedestrian.

      It happened at 8:16 Sunday night on the U.S. 41 By-pass, just west of Grove Street.

      It's believed that one vehicle and one male pedestrian were involved.

      The male pedestrian is believed to have been seriously injured.
