Marquette Area Public Schools Superintendent, Deborah Veiht, will be the new superintendent of the Marquette Alger Regional Educational Service Agency.
The MARESA board made the announcement at their meeting Wednesday night. Veiht was selected by a unanimous vote. She replaces current MARESA Superintendent, Steven Peffers, who is retiring in June. "We've had some very excellent resumes come into us. Three were absolutely outstanding; it was very difficult bringing it down to two," said MARESA Board President, Barbara Hermann.
Board members said they believe Veiht will transition easily into her new role. They will now begin contract negotiations with her.
