The Verso paper mill in Quinnesec is giving back to the community this season. Theyâ??re helping out United Way services in local area counties. Verso and their employees presented a check to United Way for over $74,000. United Way provides funds to non-profit agencies and organizations in local communities. The check from Verso is going to help three United Way agencies, including Dickinson and Delta counties and the Tri-City area, which serves portions of Marinette, Menominee and Oconto counties.
â??Itâ??s a huge impact, obviously, because our goal this year is $105,000 overall,â?? said Dickinson County United Way coordinator, Barbara Messer. â??I don't know exactly what Verso's going to have, but it's going to be significant. It could be as much as, close to, 50 percent of that, so that's a huge impact.â??
Verso ended up giving over $66,000 to Dickinson County United Way.
