Veteran gets new furnace to help keep warm this winter

An 88-year-old World War II veteran, named Peter Tousignant, will be able to stay warm this winter thanks to a brand new furnace installed in his home Saturday.

For the past three years, Hudson Mechanical and Lennox have joined together for a program called Heat UP Wisconsin. Thousands of people fill out an entry form and nominate people in their community who they feel deserve the free furnace the companies provide.

Tousignant was nominated by his daughter.

More than 200 furnaces have been given away and installed in the last three years.

"It's really nice to get to do something for somebody who's done so much for us. So we're putting in a new high efficiency heating system for him," said Tom Beaudette, lead furnace installer.

Tousignant said he is very grateful for the new furnace.
