Proceeds from the community rummage sale in L'Anse are going towards a good cause. The VFW hosted the rummage sale to raise money for repairs to the Baraga County Shelter Home.
The shelter home is 30 years old and is in need of a new roof and several other upgrades. Local crafters were invited to rent a table and show sell their assortment of items."This is really the kickoff of a capital campaign to improve the status of the shelter, the building itself is very old and the services that we provide there are absolutely necessary." said Jamie Palmer, Executive Director of the Baraga County Shelter Home.
The rummage sale was held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The shelter home will be having a pasty sale and a 30th anniversary gala in the future to raise money for the repairs.
