An investigation is now closed after a two-vehicle crash on Sunday killed a passenger, identified as 66-year-old Mary Catherine Keller.
The Mackinac County Sheriff's Office said they arrived on the scene at 9:32 a.m. on US-2 near St. Ignace.
A car carrying four people and traveling west on US-2 was trying to pull into the scenic overlook when it collided with a truck pulling a fifth-wheel camper and a small fishing boat. As the car pulled onto the eastbound shoulder of the road, the truck crossed the eastbound lanes of US-2 and crashed into a tree.
Keller, the passenger inside the truck, died from her injuries. The passengers of the car were taken to the Mackinac Straits Hospital with minor injuries.
Deputies were assisted by Michigan State Police, Mackinac County Victim Services Unit, St. Ignace Fire Department, Allied EMS, and MDOT.
