A 38-year-old Calumet man died Tuesday trying to help someone repair their home.
The Houghton County Sheriff's Department reports the man was setting up scaffolding for the repair job just before 11 a.m. Authorities say he was electrocuted. The scaffolding hit a power line killing him.
His name is not being released.
Police say a group of people was volunteering their time to make repairs to the house in Brooklyn Location of Adams Township.
Adams Township First Responders, along with Mercy Ambulance personal, attempted to revive the man, but were unsuccessful.
The accident remains under investigation.
