Volunteer training for the U.P. 200

The U.P. 200 is just a couple of weeks away, and volunteer training is already taking place.

Sunday in Chatham, volunteers spent time learning how to help competitors as they hit checkpoints in both Chatham and Wetmore. Volunteers are stationed at checkpoints, assuring that a safe race takes place.

"It's a unique experience, especially with respect to the U.P.; something that's a great tradition up here. I've wanted to be a part of it ever since I've been up here, and the last few years I went ahead and gave it a shot," said Zack Sedgwick.

During the Midnight Run, racers will stop at Chatham around midnight on February 14 and will be departing around 5 a.m.

They are still looking for volunteers. Without volunteers, the races are not possible. If you are interested, check out the link below.
