Volunteers needed for first annual Trails Fest

The Noquemanon Trail Network is gearing up for a new event this weekend, the first annual Trails Fest.

The event will combine a number of events including a dual slalom, trail tours, marathons and youth races over a three day period.

The NTN is still looking for volunteers for two hour shifts for both days. Organizers say all those involved will be able to see what makes the Trail Network so special.

"One of the great aspects of this race is going to be showcasing the terrain that is out in the south trails area, our dual slalom will have spectator areas," says Nicole Dewald of the NTN. "If you come to volunteer or to spectate you're going to be able to see the trails and what it is out there that brings people to this community."

The Marquette Trails Fest gets underway Friday June 6 at 5:30 p.m. and runs through Sunday.
