Volunteers are undergoing training for the U.P. 200.
The Iditarod qualifier, which is less than two weeks away, encompasses 240 miles of trail from Marquette to Grand Marais.
With so much ground to cover, volunteers are crucial to making the event a success.
Sunday, a few dozen people learned the do's and donâ??ts around the sled teams. Organizers say these trainings are important to ensure a safe race for the dogs, their mushers and the volunteers.
The race is February 13 to 17.
