      Walkaway inmate captured

      The inmate, Troy Joseph Roberts, has been located and taken into custody by Michigan State Police and Keweenaw Bay Tribal Police.


      The Houghton County Sheriff's Department is looking for assistance in locating an inmate that walked away from the Houghton County Work Crew Monday afternoon.

      According to police, 26-year-old Troy Joseph Roberts walked away from the crew at the City of Houghton Public Works Garage shortly after 12 p.m.

      Roberts was serving time at the Houghton County Minimum Security Work Camp for a probation violation. He is described as 5'11" Native American with brown eyes and black hair.

      He was last seen wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Police believe he was traveling towards Baraga or L'Anse.
