The West Iron County volleyball teams had a photoshoot Tuesday afternoon after they received a Michigan Dairy Council grant. The grant supplies chocolate milk for the volleyball athletes after all of their practices.
Only three teams in the Upper Peninsula received the grant from the Michigan Dairy Council, and only 50 statewide. According to the council, chocolate milk is an excellent post-practice drink, and the girls have already begun receiving the milk for a few of their practices.
â??Having chocolate milk after practice has been a great addition to helping us as a team refuel, rehydrate and be strong,â?? said senior athlete, Missy Koski. â??I don't have to worry about bringing something, a snack or protein.â??
Last year, the West Iron County football team also received the same Michigan Dairy Council grant.
