The Delta County YMCA is closing down, but don't worry.
The building is closing from August 10 through the 21 for annual maintenance. It's a time to do many projects that include draining the swimming pool, waxing the floors, and getting the facility ready for new fall programs.
The YMCA is trying to accommodate the users who use the fitness center by offering open hours despite the temporary shut-down.
"We try and gear it towards fair week," said Membership Director Hadele Peacock. "We know a lot of families are going to be busy taking their families there. We try and pick a slow time of the year to do it. The big effect is going to be to the swimmers who want to use the swimming pool, but they do appreciate the fact that we take the time to drain it and scrub it out."
This fall, members can look forward to youth sports and new fitness classes that'll start on September 4.
