The Department of Natural Resources warns that conditions for wildfires are expected to increase over Memorial Day weekend.
The fire danger level is moderate right now but expected to change to high by the weekend.
Officials say lots of people in town for the holiday weekend mixed with dry conditions makes for greater risk of wildfires.
The DNR says they will be doing everything they can to prevent wildfires from happening and spreading.
"Well when the fire danger reaches a certain level we'll be flying detection aircraft," says fire specialist Bryce Avery. "Hopefully we can spot a fire while it's small and if somebody does have a fire escape or sees a fire be sure to call 911."
Some tips for safe burning are to call to get a burn permit, clear five feet around the fire and stay with the fire until it is all the way out.
