Winners have been picked for the 2014 Winter Carnival at Michigan Technological University.
Judging commenced on Thursday morning after the all-nighter, giving students some time to put the finishing touches on their statues. This year's winner of the month-long statue building contest, and for the seventh time in a row, was Phi Kappa Tau.
The fraternity captured the number one spot with a statue displaying The Beauty and the Beast. Tau Kappa Epsilon's tribute to The Lion King took second place, with a Toy Story display by Delta Sigma Phi coming in third place.
Some students logged nearly 300 hours of time during the month-long statue construction, and they showed pride in the final product.
"I'm proud of the results," said four-year chemical engineering major Michael Braun of Phi Kappa Tau.
Among the women's groups, Alpha Sigma Tau took the top spot with their tribute to Cinderella. Theta Chi Epsilon took the second spot with Peter Pan, while Delta Zeta placed third with the Wizard of Oz display.
