A Marquette County woman is in jail after she stabbed a man with a knife on Saturday morning. The incident happened around 11:15 a.m. at a residence on County Road 545 in West Branch Township.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police post in Negaunee were dispatched to the home after Marquette County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from a man saying that he had been stabbed with a knife.
The adult man and woman were in a dating relationship and were arguing when the female grabbed a knife and stabbed the male. The victim was transported to Marquette General Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released. The suspect was transported and lodged at the Marquette County Jail while charges are reviewed by the Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney.
No names will be released until the suspect has been arraigned in the 96th District Court of Marquette. Officers from the Forsyth Township Police Department and the Marquette County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
