The woman who allegedly stabbed her fianc last month was arraigned Monday morning in Marquette County District Court. The woman, 36-year-old Cloea Ashley Wiig, faces one count of felonious assault.
The incident happened on Saturday, June 29 around 11:15 a.m. at 720 County Road 545 in West Branch Township. The victim, 43-year-old James Potvin from Skandia, called 911 and said he had been stabbed with a knife.
Wiig and Potvin were engaged, and they were arguing before the alleged stabbing happened. Potvin was transported to Marquette General Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
Wiig posted bond last week and was released from the Marquette County Jail. She will be back in court for a preliminary hearing on July 22 at 9:45 a.m.
