An independent diabetic consultant in Hancock was at Portage Health Hospital Friday for a new book she co-authored about life with diabetes.
The book, My Sweet Life: Successful Women With Diabetes is a compilation of stories from 23 women across the nation who are living with diabetes. The book was written to inspire and encourage other women who face dilemmas with their condition.
Carol Grafford was diagnosed with diabetes many years ago and has remained committed to living a successful life after seeing her grandmother die from the disease.
"It has been a wonderful experience being a part of it," she happily admits. "I'm honored to be a part of it. My great hope is that the people who need this book get it."
The book is available at the hospital.
There's also a similar book for men titled, My Sweet Life: Successful Men With Diabetes.
