Two adults are in jail following a stabbing early Tuesday morning in Ironwood, Michigan. Officers from the Ironwood Public Safety Department responded to a call at 12:11 a.m. The female caller said she was the suspect but that she did not remember stabbing anyone.
Police said prescription pills and alcohol were involved and are believed to be factors in the stabbing. The female was arrested and charged with attempted assault on a police officer and minor in possession of alcohol. The male victim was transported to Aspirus Grand View Hospital by Beacon Ambulance. He was treated and released. He was charged with minor in possession of alcohol.
Both individuals were lodged at the Gogebic County Jail. Names and the location of the stabbing will be released after the two are arraigned.
The Gogebic County Prosecuting Attorney is reviewing police reports. More charges are possible. The Michigan State Police and units from Hurley, Wisc. also responded to the scene.
