YMCA offers informational sessions about swimming club

For the next three Saturdays, the Marquette YMCA will be giving younger and older swimmers the chance to learn all about its swimming club.

The program is called "Killer Whales" and on these upcoming Saturdays, parents and kids can learn about the program and talk to the coaches among other things.

"This is a chance for parents to come in, learn about our program, ask our coaches any questions, and meet the coaching staff," says YMCA Aquatic Director Matt Williams. "We also will evaluate your child in the swimming pool if you'd like to know, maybe what would be the best program for them."

The program will also hold a week long tryout session at multiple locations starting September 22.

The "Meet the Coaches" sessions will be September 6, 13 and 20 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the YMCA Pool.

They will be holding a "Try-us-out for a week" program at the following dates:-Ages 8 and up: September 23 and 25 from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. at the YMCA Pool.-Ages 9 and up: September 22 and 24 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Marquette Senior High School Pool.-Ages 9 and up: September 23 and 25 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Northern Michigan University Pool.

New parent orientation will be held on September 27 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the YMCA.
