7 dead, 13 injured in California shooting

A gunman went on a drive-by shooting rampage near the University of California Friday night, leaving 7 people dead including the suspect and 13 others wounded.

The suspect has been confirmed as 22-year-old Elliot Rodger.

Authorities say Rodger first fatally stabbed three males in his residence before going on his shooting spree and finally exchanged gunfire with deputies before crashing a black BMW into a parked vehicle.

Rodger was found dead inside the black car with a gunshot wound to the head. Police don't know if the wound was self-inflicted or caused by an officer's gun.

Multiple firearms and over 400 rounds of ammunition were recovered at the scene.
