ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Michigan got manhandled in its last football game at Michigan State.
Offensive tackle Taylor Lewan says the 23rd-ranked Wolverines won't get bullied Saturday on the road by the 24th-ranked Spartans.
The Spartans beat - and beat up - Michigan in 2011 for their fourth straight win in the rivalry. Last year, the Wolverines snapped the losing streak in Ann Arbor.
Michigan offensive tackle Michael Schofield describes the matchup as "60 minutes of necessary roughness," borrowing a phase used by Spartans defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi after the last meeting in East Lansing.
Former Spartans defensive end William Gholston was suspended by the Big Ten for a game two years ago for punching Lewan and jumping on a pileup, grabbing Denard Robison's facemask and twisting it about 180 degrees.
