Senior guard Austin Armga of the Michigan Tech men's basketball team, was named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week on Wednesday (Dec. 11).
Armga led the Huskies to a split during the first weekend of GLIAC play last weekend. The native of Waupun, Wis., scored 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting in an 81-55 win over Malone on Thursday. He also tallied a career-high seven assists and had six rebounds in the game. Against Walsh on Saturday, Armga scored 32 points on 12-for-19 shooting and added six rebounds. Armga leads the GLIAC in scoring, averaging 30 points per game and is shooting 67.5 percent (fourth in the GLIAC) from the field.
The Huskies are 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the GLIAC and play their first conference road games of the season at Findlay on Thursday (Dec. 12) and Hillsdale on Saturday (Dec. 14).
