BAY CITY , Mich. â?? Freshman forward Paula Hafner, of the Northern Michigan University soccer team, was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday (Oct. 14).
Hafner led the Wildcats to a pair of GLIAC wins over the weekend from the NMU Soccer Field. She had two goals and two assists in the two games to extend her point streak to seven games. During the streak, Hafner has six goals and five assists and NMU is 4-2-1 over that span. She scored the game-winner 2:08 into overtime in the 1-0 win over Northwood on Friday (Oct. 11). She scored a goal and added two assists in the 4-1 victory over Saginaw Valley State on Sunday (Oct. 13).
Hafner leads the GLIAC in points (17) and assists (5) and is second in goal scored (6).
NMU is 4-6-1 overall and 4-1-1 in conference action. The 'Cats play travel to Ohio for the second time this season for games at Ohio Dominican on Friday (Oct. 18) and Ashland on Sunday (Oct. 20).
