Menominee native and University of Wisconsin tight end, Jacob Pedersen, signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent following the 2014 NFL Draft.
With the retirement of future Hall of Famer tight end Tony Gonzalez, an opening could open up on the Falcons roster.
Nine tight ends were taken in the first 155 draft picks, but only two were drafted in the last 101 picks. None of those players were drafted by Atlanta.
Pedersen took to Twitter to talk about his new opportunity in the NFL: "While it wasn't the way I planned it... Heading to Atlanta to play for the @Atlanta_Falcons! Couldn't be more blessed with the opportunity!"
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound senior caught 104 passes for the Badgers for 1,394 yards and 17 touchdowns last season.
