      LSSU second, NMU fifth in men's golf invitational

      The Northern Michigan University golf team placed three in the top 20 and finished fifth at the Lake Superior State University Fall Invitational from Wild Bluff Golf Course on Tuesday (Sept. 10). The Wildcats finished +38 at the tournament with an overall score of 614.

      Aryton Mantha tied for 13th with a seven-over-par at the two-day event. He shot a 76 on Monday and a 74 on Tuesday. Mike Murphy (73-80) and Jared Reid (78-75) were two shots back with a 153, tying them for 20th.

      Wayne State (+19) won the invite. Tiffin (+21), Saginaw Valley State (+23) and LSSU (+34) finished ahead of Northern.

      Dustin Dishaw (157), Austin LeGault (160) and Patrick Sweeney (171) also golfed for the 'Cats.

      NMU has the weekend off before traveling to South Haven, Mich. for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Tournament at Hawkshead Golf Course.
