USAAI | USAAI GolfOLATHE, Kansas -- Recent Wayne State University graduate and former WSU golfer Eric Johnson (Marquette, Mich.) and junior Robert Favaro (LaSalle, Ont. / St. Thomas of Villanova) have been selected to be a part of a GLIAC All-Star team that will travel to Scotland and compete against a Scottish All-Star team on Aug. 12-21. The team is being fielded by USA Athletes International, Inc. (USAAI).Johnson was recently named to the Division II PING All-Midwest team as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). In addition, Johnson was the 2012-13 GLIAC Golfer of the Year and an All-GLIAC First Team selection following a season that included three top five finishes and a stroke average of 74.58. His best finish was a second place finish on Sept. 15-16 at the Tiffin Kyle Ryman Memorial. He shot a low round of 68 in the opening round of the the first NCAA Regional of the season. He was named GLIAC Golfer of the Week on April 9 following a fifth-place finish at NCAA Regional #2 in Georgetown, Ky.Favaro was an All-GLIAC Honorable Mention selection and ended the season with stroke average of 75.80 and won the Tiffin Kyle Ryman Memorial and the first NCAA Regional."We are so proud of Eric Johnson and Robert Favaro in their representing Wayne State University and the GLIAC in Scotland.
