      NMU golf completes action at Purgatory Regional

      The Northern Michigan University golf team finished competition at the NCAA Purgatory Regional by shooting a combined 324 to finish 28 th in the 30 team field at the Purgatory Golf Club Monday.

      Junior Ayrton Mantha led the Wildcats with a second round score of 77 to finish in a tie for 43 rd place. Mantha also shot a 77 in the opening round and completed competition with a combined score of 154.

      Senior Jared Reid was second for NMU carding a second round score of 79 finishing in a tie for 96 th place. Reid also shot a 79 in the opening round.

      Sophomore Austin LeGault and freshman Hunter Mires tied for 133 rd place each with a combined score of 167. Mires carded an 82 for the second round while LeGault shot an 88.

      Freshman Dustin Dishaw rounded out the field for the Wildcats finishing in a tie for 144 th after finishing with a second round score of 85 and a combined 171 for the tournament.

      NMU returns to action at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference South Tournament at the Winding Hollow Golf and Event Center in Columbus, Ohio April 19-20.
