      NMU Womenâ??s Basketball draws No. 4 seed; faces No. 5 Quincy in NCAA opening round

      The Northern Michigan University women's basketball team (22-7) will enter the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament as the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed Quincy (22-6) in the first round of the Midwest Regional. A game time has not been set for the Wildcats opening round contest.

      The top seed in the region, Drury, will host the first three rounds of the Midwest Regional March 14, 16 and 17 at the O'Reilly Family Event Center in Springfield, Mo.

      Drury will take on No. 8 seed Truman State in the opening round, No. 2 seed Lewis will face No. 7 seed Missouri-St. Louis and No. 3 seed Indianapolis will face Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference member Wayne State, who is the sixth seed.

      The Wildcats are fresh off their GLIAC Tournament Championship over Malone 53-49 on Sunday and return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2010 season.

      Quincy is led by senior guard and Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Tournament selection Lucy Cramsey who is averaging 13.6 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game.

      The Hawks are coming off a loss in the GLVC Tournament Semifinal to Truman State 68-54 on Saturday (March 8).
