      Northern Michigan University hockey loses top scorer

      The Northern Michigan University Wildcat hockey team has lost its top scorer due to injury, according to CollegeHockeyNews.com .

      The site reports that Matt Thurber broke his leg during practice on Tuesday and will miss the remainder of the season. Thurber leads the Wildcats with 32 points which includes 6 goals.

      NMU is set to begin the CCHA playoffs this weekend against the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
