Two Marquette Senior High School graduates met in the Championship Flight final of the Upper Peninsula Ladies Golf Association Championship.
In the first semifinal Marquette's Avery Rochester defeated Nancy Osier of Gogebic 4&2 to advance to Tuesday afternoon's final.
Marquette's Carley Saint-Onge defeated Calumet's Zoe Woodworth 2&1 in the other semifinal to set up a final that saw the 2011 winner, Saint-Onge, meet defending champion Rochester.
Rochester, who will continue her golfing career at Columbia College in Missouri, stormed out to a 3-up lead after four holes in the match play format. Rochester sank a par putt on the fourth hole while Saint-Onge bogied after her tee shot landed in a sand trap.
Saint-Onge, who will be a redshirt freshman at Michigan State this fall, won the seventh hole, but she had troubles in a bunker on the eighth hole. Rochetser won the eighth hole and had a 4-up advantage after nine holes.
Saint-Onge birdied the par three 13rth hole, but Rochester closed out the match on the 15th holes, winning 5 and 3.
