Most Upper Peninsula high school girls basketball seasons begin Tuesday (11/29). This means it's time to announce the TV6 Girls Basketball Preseason Dream Team.
We start in Delta County where Gladstone's Jammie Botruff leads the list alphabetically. She scored 16.5 points, collected 10 rebounds and had 5 assists per game for the Braves. She's already signed to play at Grand Valley State next year.
Second is Houghton's Taylor Dillinger. She returns after a season of averaging 14 points, and nearly 3.5 rebounds, steals and assists per contest for the Gremlins. Dillinger has signed with Minnesota Duluth.
Forest Park's Lexi Gussert is next. The sophomore poured in 19 points per game, grabbed nearly 11.5 rebounds and stole nearly 3.5 passes per game as a freshman.
One preseason dream teamer made it to the Class D Finals last March in East Lansing. Bark River-Harris's Jaime Madalinski was good for 17.6 points and almost 8 rebounds per game, but can the Broncos get back below the bridge?
Escanaba's Olivia Nash averaged a double-double for the Eskymos last season, 17.8 points and 11.3 rebounds for Kelly O'Connell's club. Nash will continue her career at Oakland University next year.
Finally we have West Iron County's Jaclyn Waara...the 5-5 guard can hit from anywhere, averaging 21.3 points, 4 rebounds and assists along with 5.3 steals per contest.
