Escanaba High Sschool has two coaching vacancies

It's been a busy Tuesday for Escanaba Athletic Director Dave Wilson. He's posting two vacant coaching positions including varsity volleyball.

Bron Harmon has resigned as Escanaba Varsity Volleyball Coach. The Eskymos were 7-21 and 4 last season.

Harmon has been in the program ten years, the last five on the varsity, also two with the junior varsity and three with the freshman. She says she's loved her time here, but her husband, Scott, has accepted a job as minister at the Frankenmuth United Methodist Church.

Wilson says the position will be posted after spring break.

Meanwhile, Kelly O'Connell has resigned as Girls' Varsity Basketball Coach after seven years and more than a quarter century in the program, including 16 with junior high teams and four with the Boys' Junior Varsity.

O'Connell told RRNsports.com that this was the right time, and he just hasn't been able to get the job done in the win-loss column with the girls. The Eskymos were 4-17 this season.

O'Connell adds the program needs to go in a new direction.

He isn't a teacher in the district. O'Connell is the owner of T and T Hardware in Escanaba.
